  BaleineCash — README
============================================================

1. Unzip this folder anywhere you like (e.g. in "Documents").

2. Open the "baleinecash" folder and double-click baleinecash.exe.
(baleinecash.exe IS the application; there is no separate installer.)

3. If Windows shows "Unknown publisher":
click "More info", then "Run anyway" (once).
Or, if the file is blocked: right-click the file → "Properties" →
"General" tab → at the bottom, next to "Security: This file came from another
computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." → tick
   "Unblock" → "OK".
Tip: unblocking the .zip file BEFORE extracting clears all its contents at once.

4. On first launch: create your account, then choose your database.

BaleineCash's menus are multilingual. However, account names, VAT-rate names,
co-ownership rates, etc. are specific to each language and each user.
It is therefore advisable to start from a nearly empty database in your
language (e.g. "Baleinecash_Accounting.db") and rename it as you wish
   (e.g. "My_Accounts.db").

"dummy.db" is a completely EMPTY database (no preset accounts, no VAT or
co-ownership rates). It serves as an internal reference: it does not appear
in the selection list, and you should not work on it.
If you prefer to start from a fully blank accounting database of your own:
     - open the "data" subfolder,
     - make a COPY of the "dummy.db" file,
     - rename the copy as you wish (e.g. "xyz.db"),
     - reopen the application: "xyz.db" appears in the list of available
databases; select it and work on it.

To quit: use the "Quit" button inside the application.
